There are three counselling rooms, all located on the same floor. The rooms are accessed via a flight of stairs from a discreet entry door. Each room offers a variety of seating options that can be rearranged to create a space that feels comfortable for you.
All rooms are equipped with an overhead light, as well as several lamps, so we can adjust the lighting to suit your preferences – it’s important that you feel at ease.
I bring objects and fiddle tools into the room for use, but if you have your own items that help you feel more comfortable, please feel free to bring them along!
We also have a toilet and a small kitchenette, where you’re welcome to help yourself to a glass of water during our sessions.
There is free parking outside which you can use, as well as local bus stops.
There are six counselling rooms, all located on the same floor. The rooms are accessed via flights of stairs from a discreet entry door. Each room offers a variety of seating options that can be rearranged to create a space that feels comfortable for you.

I can offer in-person sessions in North Swindon or Swindon Town centre, as well as video and telephone sessions UK-wide. I have undertaken additional training to ensure I offer safe and effective counselling remotely.
Sessions are usually weekly, but I can accommodate fortnightly sessions too. Once we have built a foundation for our work we can discuss whether the frequency is working for you and can be flexible.
The usual length is 50 minutes.
All sessions cost £50 - no difference between in-person, video or telephone
I work using the Person-Centred approach which focuses on self-development and personal growth by helping people recognise their own strengths, and step into their authentic self. It is a therapy which is very much led by YOU and never requires homework or writing/recording outside of session (unless you find that helps you of course!)
I also believe that working in a trauma-informed way is crucial. This means that I hold in mind the complex impact of traumatic events/experiences a person may have gone through and how it can impact their well-being and ways of coping.
I believe that understanding what we have gone through tends to make our current experience make an awful lot of sense. It is important to not re-traumatise people and this is why I feel that trauma-informed care integrates well with the person-centred approach.
We will go through a contract together which is designed to make the work feel contained and safe for us both. It will include things such as session times, frequency, payment and areas you would like to focus on - as well as what you can expect from me. This is a collaboration.
It's completely normal to be nervous during the first session and to have lots of questions. It's also completely normal to not know where to start (!) and so I can gently guide us through and start exploring together what the focus of our work might be.
I'm afraid there is no clear cut answer!
For some, a few sessions may be all that’s needed, making it a short-term commitment, such as six sessions. For others, it can take longer to unpack and address deeper issues, so sessions may span a few months. For some, starting counselling is a long-term investment in themselves, and sessions may continue over a longer period.
I work with both short-term and long-term approaches, depending on what you feel is best for you. There’s no obligation to commit to a set number of sessions, but we can arrange sessions in blocks and regularly review whether the work is feeling helpful.
Additional training undertaken to provide safe and effective online & telephone counselling
